Sheree Martinek

President

Sheree has been a member of the Task Force since its inception in 2010. She graduated San Jose State University in 2011 with a B.S. in Justice Studies and a double minor in English Literature and Psychology. She was an active member of Chi Pi Sigma and Alpha Phi Sigma. In 2013, she earned a M.S. in Justice Studies from San Jose State University. She is a Master of Public Administration Candidate with the anticipated graduation date of Spring 2020. Sheree has four years of experience as a Deputy Probation Officer and currently serves as an investigator for the County of Santa Clara Public Defender’s Office. She has been a part-time member of the Justice Studies Department faculty where she lectures courses in Victimology and Family and Community Violence.

Nadia Webster

vice president (interim)

Nadia has been a member of the Justice Studies Task Force since 2016. Prior to this position, she served as a student representative to the group from Alpha Phi Sigma. Nadia holds a B.S. in Justice Studies with a minor in Human Rights, and is a Master in Public Administration Candidate with the anticipated graduation date of Spring 2020. She currently works for the City of San Jose, Office of the City Attorney as a litigation analyst. She is also a reservist in the United States Air Force as air transportation.

Janet Hagemann, Emerita LEcturer

Janet has been a member of the Justice Studies Task Force since its inception in 2010. She is an alumnus of San José State University, earning her Life Teaching Credential in 1975 and a Master of Science in Criminal Justice Administration in 1980. She taught at San José State University for 30 years serving on a variety of committees and task forces during that time. She was named Lecturer of the Year for our College (2003), and SJSU Outstanding Lecturer (2010).  She was honored by the department with the Janet L. Hagemann Award for Extraordinary Contributions to the JS Department in 2014.  She remains involved as alumni liaison, doing fundraising, and continues as chair of the JS Scholarship Committee.

Robert Carrera

treasurer

Robert has been a member of the Justice Studies Task Force since 2013, first as a student representative from the Chi Pi Sigma Fraternity, and then as treasurer. He is a graduate of San Jose State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, concentration in Criminology, and a Master of Public Administration. He brings experience in administration, management, and analytics from his day job as a Management Analyst Trainee for the City of Gilroy, CA.
