What it is all about?

The Confidence Challenge is an exciting and engaging event that fosters a spirit of camaraderie and friendly competition among the students and faculty of the Justice Studies Department. Drawing inspiration from the physical agility portion of the POST (Peace Officer Standards and Training) test for police officers, this annual event, which began in 2010, offers participants a chance to showcase their physical prowess, determination, and teamwork skills.

Organized by the Justice Studies Student Task Force, the Confidence Challenge is a collaborative effort that brings together representatives from each of the Justice Studies clubs: Chi Pi Sigma, Alpha Phi Sigma, and the Forensic Science Students Club. The event is designed to not only foster strong connections among students and faculty, but also provide a unique opportunity for participants to experience the physical challenges faced by law enforcement professionals.

The Confidence Challenge consists of various physical activities that closely mirror the POST test. Participants can expect to engage in activities such as running, push-ups, sit-ups, and other agility-based exercises. The event serves as an excellent opportunity for students and faculty alike to test their physical fitness, learn about the rigorous training standards for law enforcement officers, and cultivate a supportive and inclusive environment within the Justice Studies community.

Moreover, the Confidence Challenge promotes the importance of physical fitness and mental resilience in the field of criminal justice. By participating in the event, students gain valuable experience and firsthand knowledge of the physical demands of the profession, better preparing them for future careers in law enforcement and related fields.

We invite all students and faculty from the Justice Studies Department to join us in this exhilarating competition. Whether you are a participant or a spectator, the Confidence Challenge promises to be a fun and memorable event that strengthens the bonds within our community and highlights the importance of physical fitness in the field of criminal justice. Stay tuned for information on how to sign up and details about the upcoming event – we look forward to seeing you there!
